Today, Sunday 12th December, marked Fernie Alpine Resort?s sixth Community Appreciation Day, with residents from Fernie, Elko, Elkford, Jaffray, Sparwood, and the Elk Valley all taking advantage of fantastic free lift passes. It has to be said that they timed it perfectly, with roughly 25cm of snow falling over night on Saturday. There were lots of smiles both on and of the slopes as residents tucked into special community burgers at $2 from the Day Lodge. (Proceeds are going to a local charity.)
