Paws for thought ? Red Tree Lodge is pet friendly!

Since arriving in Fernie, I have been struck by the incredible number of dogs in town and the warm welcome they seem to receive wherever they go. The Red Tree Lodge is no exception, we like to ensure that our pet-owning guests have all the facilities and information they need.

We have a number of dedicated pet-friendly rooms and recently installed a multiple leashing hook beside our deck for the summer and fall. All of our rooms undergo regular deep-cleans and we pride ourselves on completely eliminating that famous wet-dog smell; you can rest assured that your pet-friendly room will be spotlessly clean and fresh smelling.

The local area caters for a huge range of year-round pet-friendly activities, from cycling and golf to hiking and cross-country skiing. Fernie has three Dog Parks, one adjacent to the Aquatic Center parking lot, one in James White Park near the Boccie pits and one in Annex park by the Dike (ask our front desk staff for more details). With Bark Side, just a short stroll from the Red Tree Lodge, offering pet fashion and snacks – and even a dog washing station – Fernie is an ideal place for holidaying with your pet.

If your pet is prone to adventure seeking of the more solitary kind, we recommend registering with the Humane Society for a FREE unique id tag. Their pet recovery team help to reunite many families with their pets each year.

Should your pet have an accident during your stay in the Red Tree Lodge, our local emergency veterinary clinic is in Crowsnet Pass (403-563-8380).

We look forward to welcoming you and your pet to our clean, comfortable and affordable hotel.

Disclaimer:

We believe that there is a clear distinction between being a pet-friendly hotel and being a pet-crazy motel; we understand that some people are not at all accustomed to animals and we have procedures in place to ensure that our guests are not affected by our canine visitors.
