Fly Fishing Flim Fest Hits Fernie

With mountains and pristine wilderness surrounding endless rivers and lakes, fly fishing is becoming a popular sport and past time.

In the valley, the popular Elk River is not only filled with green and blue boats filled with happy floaters in the summer, but many anglers waiting to catch some world renowned cut throat trout.

What a better way to enjoy some fly fishing (in the winter), by taking in the International Fly Fishing Film Festival at the Vogue Theatre on March 3. The festival consists of short and feature length films produced by professional and amateur filmmakers from all corners of the globe, showcasing the passion, lifestyle and culture of fly fishing. From trout in British Columbia to giant pike in Alaska, the variety of films are sure to peak the interest of many anglers!
