Fernie’s Restaurants Provide Variety

Although Fernie is most known for it’s legendary powder in the Winter and mountain biking in the Summer, many don’t realize that Fernie has an extensive array of restaurants.

We thought we’d give you a little “heads up” on what will get your taste buds going while your in Fernie.

Loaf Bakery
Located directly across from the Red Tree Lodge, Loaf Bakery is always baking a wide variety of breads, rolls, pastries, cakes and specialties daily. Everything is hand-made from scratch on the premises, using traditional recipes and methods, and locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
Every Thursday, Friday & Saturday night Loaf Bakery becomes Loaf Pizzeria! Every Thursday in September head down and get one of their delicious pizzas and a beer for ONLY $10!

The Blue Toque
Tucked away in the Arts Station located on 1st Ave, The Blue Toque serves an all day breakfast and lunch. A smaller and more intimate restaurant that cooks with fresh ingredients and offers amazing daily specials. My favourite is the Reuben with a Summer Salad.

The Northern
If you’ve ever eaten at Picnic in Fernie, you’ll know that it provides quality food and service in a beautiful atmosphere. Todd, the owner, recently purchased The Northern and has worked his magic again.
The Northern offers a pub-like feel with live entertainment throughout the week. Their menu offers popular pub fare including Nachos, Wings and French Onion soup. Lunch and dinner options include Pulled Pork Sandwich, Chicken Aioli Wrap and Salmon, all served with your choice of 2 sides. Don’t worry the extra side won’t break the bank, as most of the items are priced from $11 – $19.

Yamagoya
Yamagoya, a local favourite, specializes in Sushi. For those first timers (I was one too), don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. Yamagoya has an extensive menu with such items as Edamame, Gyoza, Tuna Tatki, Calamari and about 25 different rolls. Try the Chicken Teryaki roll… it got me hooked!
Yamagoya opens at 5pm daily and always remember to be there at least 15 minutes before opening time as there’s usually a line and they do not take reservations. (This allows equal opportunity for all patrons to try out Yamagoya’s delicious sushi.)

The Curry Bowl
Located just a short walk from the Red Tree Lodge, The Curry Bowl is an Asian-fusion restaurant that offers something no other restaurant in Fernie has. Their roof top patio allows for 360 degree views of surrounding mountains while you enjoy their delicious Bombay Chicken or Green Coconut Curry.
Just like Yamagoya, The Curry Bowl doesn’t accept reservations, so remember to be early if you want to get a seat.

Cincott The Organic Market
Cincott is just two blocks away from the Red Tree Lodge and is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Try a Breakfast made with local farm fresh eggs or a bowl of crunchy granola, yogurt and fruit to get you energetic for the day. Lunch offers freshly made homemade soups or stews (they taste just like Grandma’s!) or their famour Grilled Cheese made with FOUR cheeses!
For Dinner everything from Mussels, Nachos, Salads to Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms, Fil? Mignon Surf and Turf and Ribs are on the menu. All meat is fresh cut to the portion size you want and don’t forget to try one of their Chocolate Fondues for dessert!
