Fernie, BC is winning over snow enthusiasts

Just this past week Fernie Alpine Resort was named the top ski resort in North America in the prestigious World Snow Awards that took place in London, UK.

Fernie was honored to win the much-coveted title, beating off some of the competition from other destination ski resorts like Whistler, Banff, Vail, Jackson Hole and Aspen. The title was chosen by a distinguished panel of ski and travel journalists, major international tour operators and Olympic athletes.

Matt Mosteller, VP of Sales and Marketing at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies says “We are truly honored. This award is absolutely huge! There has not been a more respected, industry-leading panel of ski journalists, industry executives, media and tour operators ever assembled. These judges know their stuff and have skied all over North America. We could not have won this award without the support of our guests, tour operators, ski media and community! Thank you so much!”

The World Snow Awards honours the best in skiing and snowboarding, including categories for best European resort, North American resort, Upcoming resort, ski and snowboard brands, airline and mainstream tour operators. The winners were announced at a fun-filled awards ceremony on Friday, November 2 during the annual Ski and Snowboard Show in Earls Court, London, UK.

Powder Magazine is also placing big time resorts in North America head to head. The Ski Town Throwdown is placing resorts like Telluride, Bozeman, Aspen and Jackson Hole in a battle and letting you vote to help name the top ski resort in North America.

Fernie battles Mammoth Mountain in the 1st round and we need your help! Visit the Ski Town Throwdown between November 14-15 to place your vote for Fernie!
