Winter nightlife in Fernie lights up

No matter the time of the year, Fernie is constantly providing entertainment for visitors and residents. This winter will be no exception. With weekly events like live music, team trivia, bingo, tarot card readings, hockey – the action never stops! Here’s a little bit to help get the season going!

Kick off your winter season on Wednesday, December 2nd when DJ Featurecast returns to The Northern for another sold out night. A $5 cover will get you in for a great night of dancing! On Thursday, December 3rd stop into Infinitea for some tapas and live music from Ben Caldwell and Sam Buckingham, or visit The Brickhouse for Jam Night….. but don’t make it a big night out, because the next day is opening day of Fernie Alpine Resort! That’s right, in just over a week we will be enjoying Fernie’s legendary powder as we ride 5 legendary bowls.

After a great day opening day on the hill, head back downtown where the entertainment is waiting! The “What The Dickens Christmas Festival” will be kicking off, there will be live music starting at 8pm from Karl Schomann and Friends at Infinitea and The Royal will be hosting the annual Charity Fashion Show at 10pm. Saturday, head to the resort for another day of riding, then hit the town! Have dinner at one of Fernie’s many unique and delicious restaurants, including Nevados, The Brickhouse, Loaf, Fernie Cattle Co., Yamagoya and Curry Bowl. After dinner catch the local Fernie Ghostriders at 7:30pm as they take on the Castlegar Rebels. Tickets are $10 and available from the Front Desk or at the door.

Sunday morning stop into the Park Place Lodge from 9am-2pm for their annual Breakfast with Santa. Children will have each have a chance to chat with Santa about their Christmas wish list, and Kyle Hamilton Photography will be on hard to take photos by donation. $3 from every breakfast sold will go to The Fernie Women’s Resource Centre and the Park Place Lodge will match all contributions. Come spread Christmas cheer!
